Plant Dragon Pattern

Plant Dragon
Notes:
I offer this pattern for free and I only ask for two things in return.  1)  Please do not sell the pattern, or the product of this pattern, and 2) I would love if you shared with me a picture of what you made.
The plant dragon was worked by joinging rounds, instead of continuous spiral.  I don’t think it matters which technique to use.  For the most part, I used Red Heart: Super Saver yarn.  This pattern has not yet been tested so there may be some mistakes. If you find one please tell me so that I can fix it.

Assembly:
Use the picture as a guide of where to attach the dragon’s pieces.  I used some white yarn and embroidered little shinies into the pupils of the dragon’s eyes.  The tail curls are sewn directly to the tips of the tail, and simply bent to make them look… curly.  You can use pipe cleaners if you really want, but it seemed unnecessary to me.  I also sewed the feathers on the wings together, so they would look more cohesive.

  1. I just saw this when I was reading the posts for the Jade dragon! My dear friend got me "hooked" on DragonVale and I want to make one for her, and myself too. Thank you for posting the pattern, I will abide by your wishes and not sell, teach, reproduce pattern or dragon for profit. I am a beader and have written patterns for classes I have taught at bead stores I have worked at so I appreciate your artisianship and your desire to protect your work of art!

  2. This was a very fun project! I did mine in a teal variegated Peaches and Cream yarn. Since I had just finished a soft pink beaded (pearls) crochet scarf, I incorporated that yarn into the pattern (I keep trying to think of projects for that beaded yarn. I'm not taking them off that yarn!) and the effect became like a baby dragon. The pink was used for the toes, belly, tips of the horns (I only made 4), the feathers. And I put some of the pearls on the tip of the tail. I'd love to send you a pic! As far as the pattern goes, I think there should be 4 small feathers. Again, loved this pattern. Thank you for dreaming it up!

  3. I saw this pattern and actually thought it would work great for a base Murloc pattern from world of warcraft murloc.
